Straightforward answers to the practical things families usually want to know before joining the setting.
What are the opening hours?
We are open 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, for 50 weeks of the year. We close for two weeks over Christmas and New Year, and on Bank Holidays.
What age range do you accept?
We welcome children from their early years right through to starting school. Get in touch and we will talk through availability for your child’s age.
Can we come and see the setting?
Yes, and we would love to show you around. Book a show-around and come and see what a forest school day feels like.
How many days can my child attend?
Children can attend between one and five days a week, subject to availability.
Do you provide outdoor clothing?
Our optional Welcome Pack includes waterproof outerwear, and waterproof gloves are available on site. We also send seasonal clothing guidance so every child is comfortable whatever the weather.
Do you provide food?
Children bring their own packed lunch. Wild Explorers provides snacks and water and encourages healthy eating.
What happens in bad weather?
The majority of the day is spent outside in sun, rain or snow. Indoor cover is used if weather conditions become unsafe, including dangerous strong winds.
How do you prepare children for school?
We focus on independence, practical self-care, communication, social confidence, core strength and fine motor skills. A transition report is provided before children move on to school.
What is Ovivio?
Ovivio (formerly Blossom) is the parent platform we use for communication, administration, payments and sharing children’s learning experiences and development.
