Wild Explorers is predominantly outdoor-based. The setting is designed around movement, exploration, hands-on experiences and the freedom to follow children’s interests.
Growing up in Little Squirrels.
Little Squirrels is perfect for children from 12 months old, and we recognise that children across this age range are at very different stages of development. We adapt activities so they are meaningful and achievable for every age in the room.
For our youngest, that means developing early communication and physical confidence. As they grow, the focus moves to building friendships and independence.
We support each child’s individual routines where appropriate, including offering naps in accordance with the Safer Sleep Guidelines.
What nursery days build.
The environment naturally creates opportunities for physical development, language, friendships, confidence, problem-solving, creativity and practical independence.
Curiosity
Children are encouraged to notice, investigate and ask their own questions.
Confidence
Appropriate challenge and supported risk-taking help children understand their own abilities.

Choices, self-care and practical routines all become part of everyday learning.
A natural step up to Owls.
As children grow, we gradually increase the level of independence, exploration and challenge, so the move into Owls, our pre-school room, feels like a natural progression rather than a big leap.
